Abstract

EXPORTS

  • The value of Sumatera Selatan’s exports in 2023 reached US$527.57 million, increased 14.19 percent compared to exports in September 2023 and decreased 21.65 percent compared to 2022.
  • Non-oil and gas exports in 2023 reached US$483.12 million, increased 15.23 percent compared to non-oil and gas exports in September 2023. Meanwhile, it decreased 23,79 percent compared to 2022.
  • Sumatera Selatan’s exports cumulatively during January - Oc 2023 reached US$5,506.42 million, decreased 12.67 percent over the same period in 2022.
  • The main country destinations of exports in 2023 were China at US$195.02 million, India at US$80.19 million, and South Korea at US$ 34.74 million.
  • Sumatera Selatan’s exports cumulatively during January–2023 reached US$2.227 billion for China, US$591.74 million for India and US$412.49 million for Malaysia. These three countries reached 58.70 percent of total export. Meanwhile, the export to ASEAN countries and European Union are 22.81 percent and 3.05 percent.

 

IMPORTS

    Imports of Sumatera Selatan in 2023 were worth US$145.14 million, increased by 137.17 percent compared to September 2023, and grew by 152.37 percent compared to 2022.
  • Imports of oil and gas in 2023 were US$1.87 million, decreased by 63.36 percent compared to September 2023, and fell by 69.79 percent compared to 2022.
  • Imports of non-oil and gas in 2023 were worth US$143.27 million, increased by 20.63 percent compared to 2023, and grew by 152.37 percent compared to 2022. 
  • The big three largest trading partner countries of non-oil and gas imports in January–October 2023 were China US$428.89 million (51.31 percent), Malaysia US$68.28 million (8.17 percent), and Ivory Coast US$54.09 million (6.47 percent). Imports of non-oil and gas from ASEAN and EU countries were US$205.68 million (24.60 percent) and US$81.15 million (9.71 percent), respectively. 
  • Sumatera Selatan’s balance of trade in 2023 experienced a surplus of US$382.43 million, which affected by a surplus of non-oil and gas of US$339.85 million and a surplus of oil and gas of US$42.58 million in oil and gas.
