Abstract

Export

  • The export value of Sumatera Selatan in September 2022 reached US$ 676.10 million, down 8.73 percent compared to exports in August 2022. Compared to September 2021, the export value increased by 39.12 percent.
  • Non-oil and gas exports in September 2022 reached US$656.15 million, down 7.39 percent compared to August 2022. Compared to September 2021, non-oil and gas exports rose by 35.01 percent.
  • Cumulatively, the export value of Sumatera Selatan from January to September 2022 reached US$5,629.69 million, an increase of 49.94 percent over the same period in 2021.
  • The largest decline in non-oil and gas exports in September 2022 compared to August 2022 occurred in rubber and rubber goods of US$33.75 million (25.04 percent), while the largest increase in non-oil and gas exports occurred in coal and lignite commodities of US$9.07 million (2, 85 percent).
  • According to sector, non-oil and gas exports of agricultural products from January to September 2022 rose 30.82 percent, exports of processing industry products rose 7.23 percent, and exports of mining and other products rose 125.99 percent compared to the same period in 2021.
  • The largest export in September 2022 was to China at US$345.36 million, followed by South Korea at US$57.04 million, and to Malaysia at US$40.81 million, with the contribution of the three reaching 65.56 percent. Meanwhile, exports to ASEAN and the European Union were 17.84 and 4.60 percent, respectively.
  • Cumulatively, Sumatera Selatan's largest export value from January to September 2022 was aimed at China, India and Malaysia, with a value of US$1,764.62 million, US$740.61 million and US$437.86 million, respectively.

Import

  • The import value of Sumatera Selatan in September 2022 reached US$98.21 million, up 2.68 percent compared to August 2022, and up 74.46 percent compared to September 2021.
  • Oil and gas imports in September 2022 were valued at US$8.61 million, down 12.77 percent compared to August 2022, and up 151.24 percent compared to September 2021.
  • Non-oil and gas imports in September 2022 were valued at US$89.61 million, up 4.46 percent compared to August 2022, and up 69.48 percent compared to September 2021.
  • The three largest suppliers of imported goods from January to September 2022 were China at US$349.79 million (47.14 percent), Singapore at US$72.47 (9.77 percent), and Malaysia at US$57.19 million (7.71 percent). The import value from ASEAN in January-September 2022 was US$245.22 million (33.05 percent) and the European Union US$20.87 million (2.81 percent).
  • Sumatera Selatan's trade balance in September 2022 experienced a surplus of US$577.89 million, from the non-oil and gas sector of US$566.54 million, and the oil and gas sector of US$11.35 million.
