The export value of South Sumatra Province in December 2019 was US $
338.74 million, up 3.81 percent compared to exports in November 2019
which was US $ 326.30 million. Most exports in December 2019 were
directed to China at US $ 86.41 million (25.51 percent), India at US $
51.78 million (15.29 percent) and Malaysia at US $ 31.85 million (9 , 40
percent).
The five main export commodities from South Sumatra Province in
December 2019 were Rubber worth US $ 91.43 million (26.99 percent); wood
pulp / pulp valued at US $ 83.03 million (24.51 percent); coal valued
at US $ 76.69 million (22.64 percent); palm oil and its fraction worth
US $ 24.35 million (7.19 percent); and oil yields of US $ 22.81 million
(6.73 percent).
South Sumatra Province's exports in the January-December 2019 period
amounted to US $ 4,065.63 million, down 7.21 percent compared to the
export value for the January-December 2018 period which amounted to US $
4,381.40 million.
The import value of South Sumatra in December 2019 was US $ 66.76
million or increased by 99.11 percent compared to November 2019 which
was US $ 33.53 million. Most of the imports came from China at US $
38.98 million (58.39 percent), Malaysia at US $ 5.56 million (8.34
percent) and Singapore at US $ 4.63 million (6.94 percent) .
Imports of South Sumatra Province for the period January - December
2019 amounted to US $ 511.66 million, a decrease of 31.30 percent
compared to the value of imports in the January - December 2018 period
of US $ 744.73 million.
The types of goods imported with the largest value in December 2019
were machineries / aircraft mechanics of US $ 18.98 million (28.43
percent), then fertilizers of US $ 9.31 million (13.94 percent), as well
as objects items of iron and steel of US $ 7.92 million (11.86
percent).
The total foreign trade in South Sumatra in December 2019 was a surplus
of US $ 271.98 million and in the January-December 2019 period a
surplus of US $ 3,553.96 million
