BPS RI Checks Expansion of Planting Areas in Banyuasin Regency

On Thursday, (09/01/2025) the Indonesian Central Statistics Agency carried out a Planting Area Expansion Check (PAT) activity in Banyuasin Regency. This activity aims to see whether there are rice crops being cultivated outside the existing area.

The PAT activity uses target area polygons which are operated with the GPS Field Area Measure application.

The BPS RI Directorate of Food Crops, Horticulture and Plantation Statistics led by Widyo Pura Buana S.Si., MMG., MT, and his team supervised PAT in Banyuasin Regency.

There are 482 polygon areas that indicate rice planting areas. These polygons will be used as an update for the raw rice area numbers in calculating agricultural indicators.

Also participating in this activity were the Head of BPS Banyuasin Regency, Basuki Rahmat, S.ST., M.Stat., along with the agricultural statistics team of BPS Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Provincial Agriculture Service and Banyuasin Regency.
